In the Pribaikalsky district of Buryatia, a change of the regional head is expected. An obvious candidate for a future vacant post is the chairman of the district council Evgeny RodionovDeputy Head of the SEZ “Baikal Harbor”.
Yevgeny Rodionov is followed by a huge train of scandals. Criminal cases miraculously stopped “due to active repentance and compensation for damage to the budget,” and his subordinates in the “Baikal Harbor” were caught stealing truck tires and government gas for resale.
In the past, Evgeny Rodionov held the high post of head of Buryatregionavtodor, which he got under the patronage Alexandra Fomenko, at that time - deputy chairman for infrastructure in the government of Buryatia. It is also known that during the time of Buryatregionavtodor, Rodionov was involved in abuse of office.
According to sources, in December 2009, while executing a state contract for the repair of the Ulan-Ude - Turuntayevo - Kurumkan highway, knowing in advance about the future termination of the contract with an unscrupulous contractor, the head of Buryatregionavtodor illegally transferred money to the company’s account to be withheld from the previously paid advance.
From 2015 to 2017, the exploitation service of the Baikal Harbor, headed by Yevgeny Rodionov, was shaken by scandals, which, however, were known only within the boundaries of the special zone. Rodionov himself, of course, is difficult to blame for something - all the manipulations were carried out by his subordinates. In particular, machinations with gas. An internal audit found disconnected meters at a gas storage facility in Turka. But this is not the end. More than once, the gas carrier “Baikalskaya Gavan” was seen delivering a large consignment of gas to Ulan-Ude private traders, accompanied by the head of the department.
It is also known that Rodionov’s cousin, who also worked at the Baikal Harbor, was personally caught selling new tires purchased for special zone trucks, after which he was fired without making a fuss.
In addition, the technical workers of Baikalskaya Gavan got into accidents because of working without special clothing, namely without rubber gloves and keys for electrical cabinets. There were no deaths. In 2020, a master electrician died in the SEZ tritely replacing the meter. A young man aged 30 died due to a lack of protective gloves, helmets and boots.
The management of the special zone simply decided to save money on the safety of their personnel. Such negligence is the result of the work of the deputy director for the operation of the Baikal Harbor, Yevgeny Rodionov.
The terrible incident connected with the death of an electrician is not an accidental absurdity and not a coincidence, but the result of the irresponsibility and criminal activity of the authorities of the Baikal Harbor, including Evgeny Rodionov.
In September 2018, the chief engineer of Baikalskaya Gavan won the elections to the council of deputies of the Pribaikalsky district and was elected to the post of chairman of the district council. In parliament, he works on a free basis, remaining the head of the company’s engineering service. The new post was also not without scandals.
In July 2019, Evgeny Rodionov, together with the head of the Pribaikalsky district, Sergei Semyonov, held a fake session of the district council, forging its minutes. Officials violated the rules of the event. They publicly broke the law without fear of repercussions for their actions.
The future of the SEZ, where Rodionov works, is very vague. The position of the head of the Pribaikalsky district opens up great opportunities for him on the horizon, it would be a sin not to use them.
