According to Baza’s sources, Alexander Zharov, the CEO of GPM, the former head of Roskomnadzor, signed the order to ban the publication of content on YouTube. It is valid from February 1st.
Accounts of TV channels “Match TV” and “Friday” have not been updated for 7 days. During this time, several videos were released on the TNT account, however, according to our sources, it is possible that SMM managers “got something wrong and posted it out of habit.” And nothing has been released on the NTV account since March 2: it was blocked by YouTube itself as part of the sanctions.
At the same time, the content of GPM projects continues to be updated on Rutube. According to sources, today the holding is holding a big meeting – just on the topic of how Gazprom will leave YouTube and whether it will. Zharov’s order is related to the possible blocking of the site, which Russian officials and the head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin often talk about.
